Question of the Month: March 2018 edition
It’s time for a new Question of the Month, one which will see us attempt to answer a quandary that has been puzzling the gaming community since they first crossed their fingers in hope of a straight tetromino. But first let’s find out who won February’s challenge!
The winner
Last month, Kevin from The Mental Attic asked: you ate everything during Christmas so now have to diet and work it all off; which video game character do you recruit as your personal trainer to get you back into shape? He reviewed all the answers submitted in response and the one he selected as his favourite was… wait for it… the Trainer from Wii Fit, by Luke from Hundstrasse!
Here’s Kevin’s reasoning: “The winner has to be the Wii Fit Trainer. It’s genius and I wouldn’t have thought of it.” Congratulations to Luke and thank you to everyone who joined in with February’s question. Now let’s find out more about our latest star blogger along with the challenge they’ve set us for March 2018.
The blogger
In a weird twist of fate it’s actually Luke who’s our star blogger this month! He has been writing for a little under two-and-a-half years from Worcestershire over on Hundstrasse, a place for him to safely offload all his random gaming-related thoughts to the internet rather than scaring people in coffee shops. Head over there to find review-style articles, thoughts on specific aspects of gaming, a delve into his gaming history and plenty of puns.
Luke says the most important thing to know about him is that he’s on a slow and sporadic mission to find the best Jurassic-Park-themed title. That’s why I found myself watching his Twitch channel one afternoon and spending a couple of hours on dinosaurs, boobs and flailing hand movements (nowhere near as bad as it sounds – take a look at this post for a full explanation).
This blogger has a varied taste in video games but usually counts his favourite title ever as Resident Evil 2. It seems as though he has a thing for zombies, because he recently told us he was wooed by his now-wife through the medium of Dead Island! His post last year about Resident Evil 4 is definitely one to check out: in this he explains that it wasn’t a bad game, but it wasn’t the one he really wanted.
The challenge
The question set for us by Luke is: aren’t games great? And isn’t it even greater when one game spills out into another? So for this month’s question I’d like to know what the best gaming crossover is, and most importantly why? (For the purposes of this question a ‘crossover’ can be anything from a subtle nod to a different game to a full on mashup of two titles.)”
If you’d like to get involved, publish your answer to Luke’s question at a time that suits you before 25 March 2018 and leave us a link below. There are no rules on word-limit or format so you can be as creative as you like: write a post, record a video, create a drawing, or impress us with another unique idea.
Our star blogger will then choose their favourite entry and the winner will be announced at the beginning of April. Good luck to everyone who’d like to participate this month – we look forward to seeing your answers!

I had the answer as soon as I heard what Luke’s question was… but it’s a pretty obvious one. I’m not sure it’ll be clever enough or contain enough puns for him. 😉

Yeah I’m kind of worried that the first game that came to my mind is probably going to be submitted by some other bloggers as well!

Should be both fun and interesting to see what we all can come up with for this month’s question. A great question set by Luke, I can’t wait to write something.
Let us only hope nobody else has chosen this 🙂

There’s a pretty good chance I’ve gone for an answer that nobody else would have picked… but it’s a pretty obvious answer, for me! Ha ha ha
Looking forward to seeing which game you choose! 🙂
