Editorial: March 2018
Gaming for good
Welcome to March’s editorial for 2018, where we’re preparing ourselves for mountains of Easter chocolate. Let’s take a look back at what happened in February as well as find out what’s coming up this month.

Personal backstory:February has been a month of ups and down, and sadly my gran-in-law fell seriously ill and was taken into hospital recently. Fitting in writing and reading blog posts in between hospital visits has therefore been a little difficult and I’ve not done as much of either as I would do normally. In addition, the announcement of a restructure at work has kept me busy and most of my free hours have been spent in the office. These issues, combined with the recent weather chaos here in the UK (which caused us to get stuck by the side of a motorway for ten hours), meant that we had to postpone our GameBlast18 stream last weekend. It wasn’t a decision we took lightly but it was the right thing to do as our focus is needed elsewhere at the present time. Fear not though, because we’ll be back: join us from 08:00 BST on Saturday, 07 April 2018 for 24-hours of gaming in honour of the awesome SpecialEffect. |

The community:A huge thank you to everyone who nominated Later Levels for an award recently. I really am grateful for all of the support (and for Retro Redress and everyone who left comments recently for possibly managing to convince me to finally get a tattoo). Well done to Luke from Hundstrasse for not only winning February’s Question of the Month with his answer, but for also being March’s star blogger! Find out what challenge he’s setting us this time in this post. Elsewhere in the community, creative cupid Ian from Adventure Rules spread a little love by matching us up at random: in his Secret Valentine event, bloggers showed their appreciation for each other and I created a little poem for William from Willtendo. Over on The Well-Red Mage, the Final Fantasy: A Crystal Compendium saw a number of talented writers shared their thoughts on the series and what it means to them – a massive project that a lot of hard work went into! |
