Spring is almost here, and warmer weather is on the horizon.
The anticipation of the first barbecue of the year, days out in the bright sunshine and far too much chocolate over a long Easter weekend is hanging in the air. Before we enjoy those events though, how about another Gamers’ Blog Party?
These started back in 2018 but it’s been a while since I’ve hosted one, so let me explain for those who have never heard of them before. They’re a great way to meet other bloggers in the community, find some new blogs to add to your reading schedule and let others know about your own site too. All gaming bloggers are invited to join in, and the rules are simple:
- Arrive at the party: don’t be shy and stand alone in the corner, come and say hello and introduce yourself in the comments below! Give us an overview of your blog to welcome new readers and let us know what you’re all about.
- Present your gift: think about the posts you’ve written over the past three months and choose your favourite, or one which was fun to write. Leave a link to it in your comment so we can check it out and explain why you picked it.
- Get the conversation going: start the discussion by letting us know what you’re playing right now, the game you’re most looking forward to in 2023, and what you’ll be playing for #MaybeInMarch if you’re going to participate.
- Be sociable: put on a party hat, grab yourself a controller and get you know your fellow blog party guests. Check back on new comments throughout the day to discover excellent sites and make some new blogging friends.
- Party all day: the comments below will be open for 24-hours until 06:00 GMT on Tuesday, 07 March 2023 so you’ve got plenty of time to meet and greet. I’ll also be sharing your posts on the Later Levels’ Twitter account during the day.
These blog party events are my way of giving something back to the amazing WordPress community and showing my appreciation for everyone’s support. I’ve had the opportunity to meet some lovely people and talented writers since I started blogging around ten years ago. So here’s a little thank you and a way of finding some awesome blogs you may not have come across already.
The record was set at the Gamers’ Blog Party in summer 2019, when 36 articles and 348 comments were shared. It’s a tough challenge but maybe we’ll be able to beat that again? Have fun – and excuse me while I top up everyone’s drinks and turn the music up a little louder.
