About the blog
One day in February 2013, Kim found a book that listed the top 1,001 video games released between 1971 and 2010 that everyone should play. And after a conversation with friends in the pub the following evening, she thought: wouldn’t it be great if we could do just that?
Then Kim realised how completely unrealistic it was. And how writing an introduction page in third-person was a really bad idea.
A full-time IT job, crazy family and other adult responsibilities may keep me busy, but somehow I still manage to fit in a few precious hours for video games and blogging about them here each week. Achievement unlocked: made it to the later levels in life and still gaming.
And you know what they say about becoming older and wiser? XP comes with age.
That sounds like a great goal! π

I wish I could get my wife interested in playing some video games with me. I have always been a gamer played everyday when I was a kid but now I don’t seem to have enough free time to actually get into a game and enjoy it. (kind of depressing I know). I am enjoying reading your blog and will continue to. Loved the creative Christmas posts!

I’m pretty lucky in that my other-half and stepson play video games too – although that means it can be difficult getting on the PC or one of the consoles, because someone is always using them! If your wife likes watching movies, how about getting her to try something cinematic with a strong story? Never give up hope… π

Yes you are lucky. I think she may be open to the idea of playing a game with me if it were something with a strong story line. Maybe I will try that. I’ll let you know how that turns out. Thanks for the advice!

If you have access to a PS4, perhaps try Beyond: Two Souls? The gameplay doesn’t require a lot of effort, it has a good sci-fi storyline and you can do two-player. Good luck!

I do have the ps4. I will try that one out with her. I also thought about The Last of Us remastered. She’s really into the walking dead so maybe that would picque her interest.

I like your site! So much stuff that I’m jealous π I always wanted more subjects and things to write, but unfortunately I’m only team of one. Did you really try to play all the 1001 games? π

Yeah… which was a ridiculous idea when I think about it now, because there was no way we had enough time to make it through so many games ha ha! But if we hadn’t had that conversation then this blog wouldn’t have started, so I guess there’s a silver lining.
With regard to subjects, write about whatever inspires you when the mood takes you. Most of my stuff is about gaming but occasionally there are posts about family, work or good causes if I feel I’ve got something to say. It seems as though you’re doing well though: I wish I could write more reviews like you do! π
