Hello there! I’m Kim. It’s lovely to meet you.
I’ve been playing video games for over three decades now so I guess that technically makes me an ‘older’ gamer (dammit). I’ve had a thing for point-and-clicks and wannabe pirates since playing The Secret of Monkey Island on my Amiga as a kid, and the adventure genre still holds a special place in my heart.
In the real world I work in IT with SQL and databases, which gives me an opportunity to indulge my obsession for data, flowcharts and spreadsheets. When I’m at home and not playing video games, I’m usually in the kitchen baking something sweet or cooking a meal with far too much chilli in it.
I regularly take road-trips with my husband and stepson, Pete and Ethan, to expos around the UK and often volunteer at these for SpecialEffect. The boys and I also take part in the charity’s annual GameBlast marathon with our cat Zelda, who has the uncanny ability to start meowing whenever there’s a stream.
Occasionally you’ll see Ben and Phil around the place too. We’ve all been friends since meeting through blogging in 2013 and although they may not be able to write as much as he used to, they still put in an appearance whenever they can.
