Advancements in technology have opened up an exciting world of possibilities.
But despite this progress, there are many individuals with disabilities who still face barriers when it comes to fully participating. This is why I support SpecialEffect’s mission to break down these walls and level the playing field for everyone.
It started with a Race For Life event for Cancer Research UK around 15 years ago and gradually progressed from there. I now take part in a race at least once a year as a way of showing my support for SpecialEffect, a charity that helps people with physical disabilities to experience the joy of video games.
I’ve started to take running more seriously over the past few months.
It’s an activity I’ve done on and off for the past 15 years. I think it originally started when a flatmate asked me to take part in a Race for Life event for Cancer Research UK with them. We easily walked the 5K route around Regent’s Park, and I came away feeling as though I could easily have finished faster.
