Towards the end of August, I shared my journey towards becoming a runner.
It started with a Race For Life event for Cancer Research UK around 15 years ago and gradually progressed from there. I now take part in a race at least once a year as a way of showing my support for SpecialEffect, a charity that helps people with physical disabilities to experience the joy of video games.

I’ve started to take running more seriously over the past few months.
It’s an activity I’ve done on and off for the past 15 years. I think it originally started when a flatmate asked me to take part in a Race for Life event for Cancer Research UK with them. We easily walked the 5K route around Regent’s Park, and I came away feeling as though I could easily have finished faster.

On Sunday, 09 July 2023, I won’t be playing video games.
I’ll be dragging my butt out of bed, putting on my trainers and running through the streets of the city for the ASICS London 10K. Over 17,500 people will be doing the same, and I’ll be joining a hundred of them to show support for SpecialEffect.
